Weatherization Assistance Program

The Weatherization Assistance Program is money from the state to help make your home more energy efficient. During 2019-20 over 7,400 households across the state will benefit from these funds!

For us to contact you and see if your home qualifies fill out short form below.

Building Owners

Owners whose buildings qualify to receive an Energy Conservation Subsidy/Grant will receive a letter of acceptance in the mail once the building is qualified based on tenant income levels. A member of our audit department will contact you to arrange a building walk through and generate a workscope of recommendations for state approval. You are encouraged to point out issues or concerns at this time. Following this process, contractors will be solicited for services and we will schedule all work and notify you as the project progresses. Upon completion, a New York State monitor will schedule an onsite follow up for verification and arrange an owner sign off of acceptance.

Building Tenants

The Weatherization Assistance Program is a federally subsidized program through the Department of Energy and overseen by the NYS Department of Housing and Community Renewal.  In homes with 4 units or less the program can be free of charge in some cases.  In other cases, funds to support this program are matched by the building owner, provided we can document that more than 60% of the building either meets income guidelines based on the household size and/or receives federal subsidies such as Food Stamps, Public Assistance, HEAP or SSI (SS/SSD does not apply).
